IN PURSUIT OF POTENTIAL

Simple & Inspiring plans for growth

You love your business and have worked hard to build it, the ambition for more is there.

You are creative and committed. Your product, service, brand and design ethos are strong. You can sense it all has further potential.

But bringing all of this together in an inspiring, clear and simple way is not easy.

Just carving out the time and headspace you or your team need to get to grips with the future is tough.

That’s where I can help.

How I help

I help owners and leaders like you, who, through the quality and creative ethos of their business, bring delight to people’s lives through the well-designed products and services they offer for the home.

SEON is my business. I set it up to let you

  • Leverage the power of your creative thinking and your distinctive strengths

  • Find the right solution to your unique growth challenges

  • Do all that in a way that fast tracks your ability to see further, think differently and uncover opportunities you didn’t know you had.

Whether you feel frustrated by the mounting pressures of costs, markets and competition; just swamped with daily grind; have too many ideas or simply feel unsure about the best way to go, I can help.

SEOn Promise

The process I developed is easy to follow. It will not wrap you up in months of meetings, off-sites and blue sky thinking. But it will give you the time and space to make good decisions.

It will get your best thinking out of your heads and into simple plans that can realise your potential.

It will get you inspired, creating and sustaining a momentum for the growth you seek in ways that suit you.

You will emerge clear, confident and excited by the opportunity ahead.

Who?

My name is Simon Bird and I started SEON in 2019 with the express intention of using creativity and creative thinking to make it easier for owners and leaders in furniture, furnishings and interior design markets to find and sustain growth.

WHY?
Growth is never easy. But we can make it less painful.

Why leave our creative brains to only tackle issues of design and making? We should also apply them to growth. By successfully combining and encouraging instinct and imagination, as well as objective, disciplined thinking, we can ignite and sustain growth.

These can overcome the tendency that I see, as an onlooker/ consumer, for ‘sameness’ in this sector but also promote the talent for design, making and innovation that often struggles to recognise its own uniqueness and meet its full potential.

I want more people to be aware of and buy great design, excellent products and outstanding services. Such things just make our homes and our lives better, and that sounds like a growth opportunity to me.

MY APPROACH
Is based on over 30 years of leading sales and marketing in international premium branded businesses. From my first corporate job, selling paper to designers in France, to my last, as global executive director of marketing and EC in the furniture industry I have been asked, irrespective of market conditions, to deliver profitable organic growth.

Finding and sustaining it has been my constant challenge.

It forced me to constantly innovative and where necessary drive transformative change, not just to stay with the game, but preferably to get, and stay ahead of it.

Over time I have found relying on my creative instincts helped me but this has been complemented by experience, collaboration, what I’ve learned through my MBA in Creativity, Innovation & Change, and even through my own practice as an abstract artist.

It has all been distilled into what I do today, and who I do it for.

RECENT CLIENT FEEDBACK

Simon’s approach was very thorough, and in no way a quick fix. A lot of people were involved and a lot of opinions questioned. Now it’s easy to give an opinion – but Simon interrogated further, and asked people to substantiate them – and as a result, people understood what he was doing.

RECENT CLIENT FEEDBACK

Got to the heart of our issues very quickly and provided a logical and achievable set of outputs. Very easy to work with as well, which helps!

RECENT CLIENT FEEDBACK

The way Simon handled the project and team was not just actionable, but respectful, and I had seen how people responded to his approach.  This gave me enough confidence to go for the second project – which was a little more difficult.  At that point we weren’t even sure what the potential value could be, and how much it could grow. I had confidence that Simon could handle this risk well.

RECENT CLIENT FEEDBACK

Such an amazing experience. Came in confused and left with great clarity and a plan.
Would recommend to anyone. Fantastic. Thank you.

RECENT CLIENT FEEDBACK

Simon is not just systematic but thoughtful and charming in the way he brings out what can be quite hard messages.  He can rally people, and get them to talk – and that’s a great character trait.  Then he doesn’t just present an opinion, but grounds a true argument and embeds a new way of thinking.

RECENT CLIENT FEEDBACK

As a result of Simon’s work, I think the culture changed. Teams are much better organised, and communicate more. People feel part of a larger community, and they now follow through on the changes they want to see. The feeling of responsibility is more shared, and everyone cares about the P&L.
